 Monkey bread is a delicious, sweet and sticky treat that's perfect for sharing with friends and family. Here's a simple recipe you can try:




Ingredients:


  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the coating:
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted


Instructions:


1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.


2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, butter, and water. Heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is warm to the touch but not hot.


3. Add the warm milk mixture, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.


4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.


5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.


6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).


7. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.


8. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a ball.


9. Dip each ball in the melted butter, then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.


10. Place the coated balls in a greased bundt pan or a baking dish.


11. Cover the pan with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.


12. Bake the monkey bread for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.


13. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
