Ingredients:


1. 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

2. 2 cups granulated sugar

3. 3 large eggs, at room temperature

4. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

5. 2 cups all-purpose flour

6. 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

7. 1 teaspoon baking soda

8. 1/2 teaspoon salt

9. 1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature

Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)


Instructions:


  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10-inch Bundt cake pan with butter or cooking spray.

  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  • Beat in the vanilla extract.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in 3 additions, alternating with the buttermilk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Once the cake has cooled, dust it with powdered sugar or serve it with your favorite frosting or glaze.
