Recipe for vanilla cupcakes

Ingredients:


  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk, room temperature


Instructions:


  • 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.frosting

  • 2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • 3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

  • 4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  • 5. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  • 6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk until everything is fully combined.

  • 7. Pour the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each liner about 2/3 of the way full.

  • 8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • 9. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before frosting.


Optional frosting:


  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1-2 tbsp milk or heavy cream


Instructions:


  • In a large bowl, beat the butter until it's creamy and smooth.

  • Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing until fully incorporated.

  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

  • Add the milk or heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.

  • Pipe or spread the frosting onto the cooled cupcakes and enjoy.
